Course Overview

Get to know where your cuts of meat come from in this fantastic one day butchery workshop.

This is an exciting opportunity to see the nose to tail process and the art of beef butchery.

During the course of the day you will get the opportunity to cut and prepare a range of beef products within our impressive butchery facility alongside our expert butchery lecturers. You'll then have the chance to cook and sample your cuts of meat.

  • Farm to fork
  • Products that can be created from a quarter of beef
  • Portion control
  • Anatomy
  • Value added products
  • Cook off and sampling

At Plumpton College, we can be proud of the provenance of our meat, and you will be able to see this first hand and learn a few butchery skills along the way.

Entry Requirements

Who is a one day workshop suitable for?

A One Day workshop is an experiential day for individuals with limited to no knowledge of the area being covered.  It is a fun social unaccredited course that could be suitable to be given as a gift or to join in order to meet likeminded people.

Financial support could be available depending on eligibility criteria which could help fund travel, course equipment, or more.

Course Fees

Students aged 24+ who are studying a second Level 3 course or aged 24+ who are studying their first Level 3 course will have to pay tuition fees, depending on the course.

Students on low income who can prove they earn less than £25,000 (from September 2024); are unemployed; or receive state benefits could be entitled to a tuition fee waiver.
