How do I apply?

Applications are made online, via our website. Just head to your department area, select your chosen course and click ‘apply’. If you live in East Sussex please make your selection through eProspectus, where your school will help with your application.

What types of qualifications do you offer?

We offer an array of vocational programmes with varying qualifications, from Entry Level up to Level 1, 2 and 3. Our Level 3 Extended Diplomas offer a qualification that is equivalent to A levels and will earn you UCAS points to progress onto University.

We also offer apprenticeship options for some of our courses which allows you to work and earn money at the same time as studying. Discover more about our apprenticeship opportunities.

Do you host Open Events?

We have a number of Open Events scheduled throughout the year, please head to our Calendar of Events section to find out when they are and to book your place.

What are the entry requirements to access courses at Plumpton College?

This depends on the course and level of study you choose. However generally speaking in order to join us on a Level 3 programme you will need to have achieved 5 GCSEs, grades 9-4, including English and maths and for some courses, also science.

For a Level 2 programme you'll need to have achieved 2 to 3 GCSEs, grades 9-3 and for a Level 1 programme 1 or more GCSEs, grades 2-1.

When is your application deadline?

The priority deadline for applications is 31st January 2023. We do accept applications after this date but places will be subject to course availability. Please get in touch with our Enquiries team if you need any help with your application. 

How do I get to Plumpton College?

Our main campus in Plumpton is serviced by our own extensive bus network, covering East Sussex, West Sussex and parts of Kent and Surrey. View information on surrounding routes and prices.

We are connected by public buses and trains with Plumpton and Lewes train stations short distances away from our main Plumpton campus.

You are welcome to bring your car to college where you will find ample student parking.

If you live further afield we do offer residential student accommodation which has been rated by Ofsted as ‘Outstanding’.  

Do you offer Taster Days?

Yes, our next Taster Days will be for Year 9 and Year 10 students in July 2024. Dates to be confirmed soon.

How many days a week will students be in college for?

This will depend on your course but it is usually 3 days per week. 

How will the interview process work?

Student interviews will take place on site at Plumpton College. You will receive an invitation by email. Interviews usually take place on a Wednesday afternoon during the college day, however this may vary for some subjects. If you are unable to attend the interview you must contact our Enquiries team to arrange another time.

Will Students have an Induction Day before they start in September?

Yes, both student and parent welcome events took place in June 2023.
