Course Overview
The course will help you become a dog groomer or build on an existing career in the industry with focuses on the principles and practices of modern dog grooming techniques.
The Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming will provide you with the practical skills and knowledge required for working as a Professional Dog Groomer. There are many opportunities available on completion of the course. Some examples may include becoming self-employed or working for a business or franchise.
Topics covered within the qualification include mandatory modules such as:
- Health and safety, legislation and codes of practice for the dog grooming industry
- Styling and finishing a dog
- Health checking and handing a dog in a dog grooming environment
- Customer service and record keeping in a dog grooming environment
The assessment methods for this qualification will include a written examination and a practical assignment.

Entry Requirements
- Successful course pass of City & Guilds Level 2 Dog Grooming Assistant
- Minimum age 18
- Students with English as a second language will be required to have gained IELTS Level 6.5 overall with Level 6.0 in writing.

Students aged 19+ can apply for funding through an Advanced Learner Loan for this course.
