Our Access to Higher Education Diploma provide an excellent online pathway to
university, specifically designed for those wishing to pursue a career in
Veterinary Science.
The Access to HE Diploma (Veterinary Science) provides students with a
thorough understanding of the biological and chemical principles related to
animal health and welfare. This course is designed to prepare students for
Higher Education leading to careers in veterinary science, animal care, and
related fields. Students will acquire key knowledge, subject-specific skills,
and transferable skills essential for success in these areas.
This self-directed course, which can be completed 100% online, is tailored
for individuals seeking to study veterinary nursing or veterinary physiotherapy
at university. It offers a flexible and structured approach, enabling you to
balance your studies with other commitments. The course typically takes
approximately 12 months to complete but could be completed in less time
depending on each individual learner’s study commitment.
Applicants must be at least 19 years old at the start of the course. Access
to HE courses are highly regarded by universities. All content is available
online and is self-paced. You will have access to an Academic Mentor, who will
provide both academic and pastoral assistance throughout your studies.
Once you have completed the Access course successfully, you can apply for one
of our animal-related degrees in FdSc Veterinary Nursing, FdSc Applied Animal
Behaviour and Conservation, or BSc (Hons) Veterinary
Physiotherapy.

What is it like to be a student on this course?
This course is ideal for those wanting to apply for Higher Education courses in the Veterinary sector, but do not have the required sciences at Level 3. This is an entirely self-directed online course, giving you the opportunity to study at your convenience and work the course around daily life. All study materials and assignments are available on an online platform and you will have access to tutor support throughout your study, with regular one-to-one meetings via Teams and in depth feedback on assignment submissions, ensuring you are prepared for study at Level 4 and beyond.
