Plumpton College is seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant Curriculum Manager for Motor Vehicle to join our Motor Vehicle, Metalsmithing and Agricultural Engineering Division.
Join our dedicated and enthusiastic team and play a pivotal role in designing and delivering outstanding learning experiences that support students' academic, personal, and employability skills. This position requires a strong leader who can inspire staff and students and foster an environment of continuous improvement.
Motor Vehicle is one of Plumpton’s most popular curriculum areas; this role will oversee and be accountable for, the delivery of high quality, engaging, industry-focused programmes of learning which deliver the best possible student experience in support of the continued success of our motor vehicle provision. This will include leading our team to deliver high quality teaching and learning, enabling student recruitment and progression, taking a pastoral lead, to ensure student success and engaging with industry to inform our provision.
Key Responsibilities:

Programme Development & Delivery: Lead the development and delivery of learning programmes that align with regulatory requirements and college standards.

Staff Management: Provide line management, mentoring, and support to curriculum staff, ensuring effective performance management and development.

Quality Assurance: Oversee programme reviews and contribute to quality improvement plans to ensure exceptional educational outcomes.

Student Success: Monitor student progress, attendance, and engagement, and implement strategies to enhance achievement and progression.

Collaboration: Work with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen partnerships that enrich the curriculum and promote student employability.
Qualifications and Experience:

A degree or equivalent professional experience.

A relevant teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).

Proven experience in teaching and assessing with a record of delivering high standards.

Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.

Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability.

Proficiency in IT and familiarity with virtual learning environments (e.g., MS Teams).
-
The ideal candidate will possess engineering expertise, although this is not a prerequisite for this role.
