Inspire the Next Generation of Conservationists
Sessional Lecturer – BSc (Hons) Applied Zoology & Animal Conservation
Are you passionate about conservation and ready to share your expertise with future leaders in the field? An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Higher Education Animal Studies teaching team at Plumpton College. We’re seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic sessional lecturer to help shape and deliver our brand-new BSc (Hons) Applied Zoology and Animal Conservation programme.
We’re particularly interested in candidates with expertise in:
- Conservation education and communication
- Human–wildlife conflict resolution
- Zoo science & conservation
In this role, you’ll be teaching and mentoring final-year students as they prepare to step into careers across conservation, animal management, and beyond. You’ll play a pivotal part in bringing theory to life, drawing on your own industry or research experience to enrich the student journey.
Why join us?
- Be part of a new and forward-looking degree programme, validated by the University of Greenwich.
- Share your specialist knowledge with motivated undergraduates eager to make a difference.
- Gain valuable teaching experience – ideal for postgraduate students or early-career professionals.
- Flexible sessional role – with a current need for Thursday afternoons (though we’re open to discussion if that’s your only barrier to applying).
What we’re looking for:
While previous higher education teaching experience is desirable, it’s not essential. We welcome applications from those working in conservation, animal behaviour, zoology, or related fields who are ready to take the step into teaching.
At Plumpton, we are committed to innovation in land and environment education – and you’ll be part of a team that’s shaping the future of animal studies.
Apply today and inspire the conservationists of tomorrow.
We reserve the right to call candidates to interview/withdraw this vacancy at any time if there is a good level of response. Therefore, we recommend you submit your application as soon as possible.
