Level 2 Online Course Assessor

  • Company: Plumpton College
  • Closing Date: 26-11-2025
  • Salary: Dependent upon experience
  • Hours: Variable

Description

Are you passionate about supporting learners to achieve their best, and motivated by the opportunity to make a positive impact through high-quality online education? At Plumpton College, we are proud to deliver specialist, land-based and professional training that equips people with the skills they need to thrive. As our portfolio of online Level 2 courses continues to grow, we are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic Assessors to join our team.

About the Role

You will play a key part in delivering an engaging, supportive, and professional experience for learners studying remotely. You’ll provide timely and constructive assessment feedback, guide learners through their qualification, and help ensure every student feels connected, motivated, and well-supported throughout their journey with us.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess learner work in line with awarding body standards and Plumpton College quality expectations.

  • Deliver clear, developmental written feedback that encourages progress and builds confidence.

  • Support learners through regular communication, offering guidance on assessments, study skills, and progression opportunities.

  • Proactively monitor learner engagement and follow up with those who may need additional encouragement to stay on track.

  • Maintain accurate online records and uphold safeguarding, GDPR, and College policies at all times.

  • Participate in IQA processes, standardisation sessions, and continuous improvement of our online course offer.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking someone who brings professionalism, positivity, and a genuine desire to help learners succeed. You will have:

  • A relevant Level 3 qualification (or higher) in your subject area, or substantial industry experience.

  • A relevant assessor qualification.

  • Experience supporting or assessing learners, ideally at Level 2.

  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to offer clear, constructive feedback.

  • Confidence using online learning platforms and managing a caseload independently.

A teaching qualification and experience delivering fully online programmes would be an advantage, but not essential.

If you’re passionate about learner success and excited to contribute to Plumpton College’s online provision, we would be delighted to hear from you.

We may close this vacancy early should we receive a high volume of applications, so early submission is encouraged.

Plumpton College is committed to promoting equal opportunities, eliminating discrimination, and safeguarding the welfare of learners. All staff are expected to share this commitment.

Appointment is subject to an enhanced DBS check in line with safeguarding requirements.
