Plumpton College is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Lecturer in Animal Studies to join our growing team. This exciting full-time role offers the opportunity to help launch and play a key role in the delivery of our brand-new BSc (Hons) Top-Up in Zoology and Animal Conservation as well as other related programmes.

What You’ll Do
- Plan and deliver high-quality, evidence-informed teaching and assessment across our new HE programme in Zoology and Conservation (some contribution to Level 3 FE teaching and tutoring will be required).
- Track student progress rigorously, provide effective academic support, and take ownership of student outcomes.
- Contribute fully to the wider demands of the role, including curriculum development, open days, recruitment events, and ongoing quality assurance — this is a rewarding but demanding post requiring commitment, adaptability, and resilience.
What We’re Looking For
- Postgraduate qualification in Zoology, Animal Science, Conservation, or a related subject (essential).
- HE teaching experience or clear potential to teach to a consistently high standard.
- A recognised teaching qualification, or willingness to achieve one within four years of appointment (e.g. PGCE).
- Excellent attention to detail and a student-centred, proactive approach.
- Flexibility, collaboration, and a genuine passion for your subject.
