Are you committed to helping young people thrive? We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our Inclusive Learning team and play a vital role in supporting students to achieve their potential. 

In this rewarding position, you’ll work closely with individual learners and small groups, offering tailored support that promotes confidence, independence, and meaningful progress. Your contribution will help ensure every student enjoys an exceptional learning experience throughout their college journey. 

About the Role 

You will: 

  • Provide high-quality support to learners with a range of needs, including SEND and SEMH. 

  • Implement and contribute to learning plans that enable students to access the curriculum effectively. 

  • Build positive, respectful working relationships that empower students to stay motivated and engaged. 

  • Support classroom delivery, help reinforce learning, and assist students with reading, writing, and assessment activities. 

  • Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff to plan, review, and enhance learners’ experience. 

  • Promote independence, advocate for student voice, and help remove barriers to learning. 

This is an active, student-facing role where every day brings new opportunities to make a measurable difference. 

What We’re Looking For 

You will bring: 

  • Experience supporting young people with SEMH needs and/or challenging behaviour. 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive rapport. 

  • Solid literacy, numeracy, and IT skills (minimum Level 2). 

  • Experience working with learners with SEND. 

  • A caring, resilient, student-centred approach, aligned with our college values. 

  • A willingness to undertake relevant training, including a Level 2 qualification if not already held. 

Desirable: Learning Support or similar qualification, and experience in pastoral, welfare, or safeguarding support.
