Description

Plumpton College is seeking to recruit a Cover Lecturer/Coordinator to join the College in a new role. The Cover Lecturer and Coordinator will oversee all aspects of staff cover, develop and manage the College cover bank register, and be available to deliver high-quality cover lessons when required to ensure that teaching and learning continue in the event of staff absence.

The ideal candidate will have a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification and experience in secondary or further education. As this is a College-wide role, there is no need for specific subject knowledge, although a background in one of the curriculum areas taught at Plumpton would be beneficial. This role requires high-quality communication skills and strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.

For an experienced teacher or lecturer looking for a new direction, this is a role with huge variety – you could be supporting with an equine lesson, covering a class in horticulture or working with butchery or bakery apprentices. Plumpton’s curriculum coverage is extensive, and the successful candidate for this role will have the opportunity to experience life in all our different areas and develop a strong understanding of Further Education and the land-based sector whilst providing an essential service to curriculum management staff and our students.
