Are you passionate about animal welfare and supporting the next generation of animal care professionals? We’re looking for dedicated and flexible Animal Studies Technicians to join our team on a bank basis, providing essential cover within our Animal Education Centre.
About the role
As a key member of our Animal Studies team, you’ll help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the Animal Education Centre, supporting the welfare and husbandry of a wide range of animals. Working closely with the Animal Collections Manager, you’ll also assist students with practical learning, supervise husbandry activities, and help maintain safe, clean, and well-presented facilities.
This is a bank role, ideal for those seeking flexible work to cover weekends, bank holidays, and staff absences at short notice.
Main responsibilities

Carry out daily animal husbandry and welfare checks

Support and supervise students during practical sessions

Prepare materials and assist with demonstrations

Maintain high standards of safety, cleanliness, and presentation

Keep accurate records and communicate effectively within the team

Adhere to all health, safety, and biosecurity procedures
About you
You’ll have:

A minimum Level 3 qualification in Animal Management or a related field

Practical experience working within an animal unit
-
A strong understanding of animal care and welfare
-
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks

Confidence in supervising students and promoting safe, professional practice
-
A flexible and proactive approach to work
A full UK driving licence and relevant Level 3 Animal Care qualification are desirable.
