Plumpton College is seeking an ambitious and passionate Assistant Curriculum Manager – Equine to play a key role in shaping and delivering outstanding equine education.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced equine professional and high-performing teacher who is ready to take the next step into curriculum leadership. Working closely with the Curriculum Manager, you will help drive high-quality provision, support and develop staff, and ensure excellent outcomes for learners.


About the Role

As Assistant Curriculum Manager, you will:

  • Design, develop and manage high-quality equine programmes that meet awarding body requirements and industry needs

  • Line manage and mentor staff, supporting performance, development and wellbeing

  • Deliver and model consistently high-quality teaching, learning and assessment

  • Lead on quality improvement activity, including standardisation, internal verification and KPI monitoring

  • Support student recruitment, progression, retention and destinations

  • Work collaboratively with employers, stakeholders and internal teams to strengthen provision and learner opportunities

  • Ensure safeguarding, equality, diversity, health and safety, and student welfare are embedded in all practice

You will also contribute to marketing and recruitment activity, employer engagement, and whole-college events.


About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds a degree or professional qualification in equine (or a related subject)

  • Has a recognised teaching qualification appropriate to the level of delivery

  • Has extensive equine industry experience and strong specialist subject knowledge

  • Is an excellent teacher with a track record of good or outstanding practice

  • Has the ability to support, motivate and develop a high-performing team

  • Is highly organised, adaptable and confident using data and digital systems

  • Is passionate about student success, inclusion and safeguarding

  • Holds Level 2 (or above) English and maths, or equivalent

Supervisory or team leadership experience is desirable.
