Course Overview
This course is suitable for those looking to either enter into the industry or you may have been working in the industry for some time and now need some formal qualifications / certificates of competence to strengthen your employability & secure that promotion or new job role.
You will gain a number of tickets / certificates of competence whilst also learning essential skills & knowledge to give you the cutting edge in this sector.
Trained by industry experts, you will receive hands on practical training to ensure your readiness for each assessment.
The majority of the training is focused on passing the industry recognised NPTC qualifications stated below. Students will be required to do some self-study in their own time in order to consolidate information given during the day.
All students will be required to have their own Chainsaw Personal Protective Equipment but chainsaws and tools will be provided.
Students will be expected to self-study in their own time to consolidate daily course information.

- NPTC Level 2 Certificate of Competence in Chainsaw maintenance and cross cutting (003920)
- NPTC Level 2 Certificate of Competence in Felling Small Trees up to 380mm (003921)
- Lantra Brush-cutters and Trimmers
- NPTC L2 Certificate of Competence in Manually Fed Wood Chippers
- Emergency Tree Works & Operations
- LANTRA Basic Tree Survey & Inspection / Plumpton College - Intermediate Tree Inspection (depending on exisiting level of experience)
- ITC Ofqual Regulated L3 Emergency First Aid at Work + Forestry Operations
Course costs

Assessment
You will be assessed by an external City & Guilds assessor on each unit / ticket
Entry Requirements
Although you won't necessarily need forestry or arboriculture experience, you'll need to be over 19 years old, live or work in West Sussex, be physically fit and enjoy working in all weathers.
You will have the opportunity to discuss the course with a meber of the Skills Bootcamp Team prior to enrolment and answer any questions you may have.

- Protective Helmet (EN 397) with ear muffs, eye protection and chin strap.
- Chainsaw Protective Trousers (pr EN 981-5) Type C Trousers must have all round leg protection.
- Safety Boots with chainsaw protection - toe cap (EN 345)
- Chainsaw gloves (EN381-7)
