In a significant move to address the skills gap and enhance career prospects for adults, the UK government has launched a series of new Skills Bootcamps. These free, flexible courses are designed for individuals aged 19 and over, providing them with the opportunity to gain sector-specific skills and fast-track their career progression.
What are Skills Bootcamps?
Skills Bootcamps are intensive training programs that usually last up to 16 weeks. They can cover a wide range of industries, including digital, technical, green skills, and more. Here at Plumpton College, we'll be offering Skills Bootcamps in the following areas:

Can Skills Bootcamps be done alongside full-time employment?
Skills Bootcamps are designed to fit around existing commitments, with many courses having options for daytime, evening, and weekend learning. This allows students to keep their current employment alongside their study. Participants are expected to commit to a combination of in-person and independent study each week, depending on the course.
Guaranteed job interviews
One of the standout features of the Skills Bootcamps is the guarantee of a job interview for those looking for employment upon completion. This initiative not only equips learners with in-demand skills but also provides a direct pathway to employment, making it an attractive option for those looking to enter new industries or advance in their current roles
Think you could benefit from Skills Bootcamps?
The new Skills Bootcamps represent a significant investment in the future workforce of the UK. By providing adults with the opportunity to gain valuable skills and secure employment, these courses are set to play a crucial role in closing the skills gap and driving economic growth.
