• Supervisor/Team Leader - Roles & Responsibilities 
• Understanding Felling License Applications for Arborists & Interpreting Tree Survey Reports / Woodland Management Plans 
• Pest & Disease (Inc Ash Die Back IPS Typo) 
• Developing and Maintaining Good Occupational Working Relationships in the Workplace (Effective communication & Having difficult conversations) 
• Lantra Basic Tree Inspection / Plumpton Intermediate Tree Inspection  
• Understanding ICOP and Legislation (Your responsibilities) Co-ordinating and organising work operations in the workplace (to include Site safety, auditing)  
• Emergency Tree Works & Tree Identification, Biosecurity, conservation & Soil and Topography Assessment,  
• Writing & Understanding Risk Assessments & Allocating and monitoring the use of plant, machinery, equipment or vehicles in the workplace 
• SSSTS & Implementing procedures to support team performance in the workplace 

You will be assessed via a range of different methods including practical observations,  timed quizzes, essays, and professional discussions and a digital portfolio. 

You will also be assessed externally in relation to any certificate of competence based training. 

You will be expected to implement to practically apply the skills, knowledge and behaviours into your working practices.

Anyone with 2+ years experience in the arboriculture industry. 

Qualified climbers not essential. 

As part of your career progression, it is not expected that you are a fully qualified / lead climber as the necessary skills required to be a team leader requires you to have both feet on the ground. 

This course takes a fresh look at who can be a team leader when considering site / supervision / safety.
