Course overview
An extensive course exploring the key wine producing regions of the world.
This course caters for very keen wine enthusiasts and those who wish to be
employed in positions of responsibility in the wine trade.
Topics include tasting techniques, viticulture and vinification, wine law and
the factors impacting the principal wine-producing countries of the world.
Studying at Plumpton College gives students the unique opportunity to
experience practical sessions at our commercial winery and vineyards, including
a newly established vineyard, as part of their studies.
This course is available in an extended format over a semester or an
intensive week long course.
Students are invited to sit the WSET® examination in person at the end of the
course.
Entry Requirements
- A pass at the WSET® Level 2 Certificate.
Modules
There will be continuous assessment to support learning throughout the course.
At the end of the course, students can sit the WSET ® Level 3 Award in Wines examination. This comprises a theory exam (MCQ and short answer questions) as well as a practical (tasting) exam.
