National Dairy Apprenticeship programme
00:00 - 00:00
Just ahead of National Apprentice Week, Plumpton College and LKL Services Ltd have joined forces to launch a new National Dairy Apprenticeship programme. A group of new entrants to the dairy industry from all over the UK have started their first residential block of training based around Plumpton’s impressive 300 cow dairy unit. The students will complete their training over an 18 month period with most of their time spent back on their LKL farms developing their skills supported by College and LKL staff. The students are from a variety of dairy systems but look after over 2300 cows between them! Some of the comments received so far are “really enjoying it so informative and good fun”…. “I have learned loads already”…..
Each block will cover a different topic and is delivered in a mixture of visits, lectures and practical assessment drawing on a range of industry experts to ensure the participants get the latest industry information. If you wish to find out more about the programme then visit the College’s website at www.plumpton.ac.uk or LKL Services Ltd at www.lkl-sevices.co.uk
