Forestry Commission launches new skills fund

If you live or work in England, you can now apply for 100% grant funding to help you gain new forestry and woodland skills.
The new Forestry Training Fund can cover the costs for short, practical forestry courses delivered by LandPro Training. Funding is available for anyone considering a change of career or seeking to build and diversify their skills in forestry and who want to undertake a forestry-related training course.
The Forestry Commission are offering grants in the range of £150-£3,000 to anyone who works and operates in England.
To be eligible you must be:
- looking to take a step towards a career in forestry
- working in other land-based sectors and would like to broaden your skill base
- wanting to switch careers and need to develop skills to get started
- currently working in forestry and would like to develop your skills further
The fund will support a wide range of accredited training courses offered by LandPro Training including, (but not limited to) chainsaw maintenance and cross cutting, felling and processing trees and rough terrain telescopic lift trucks training.
How to apply:
Simply visit the Forestry Training Fund portal, fill in the online application form providing details of the LandPro Training course you would like to complete, and if successful, your course fees will be paid directly to LandPro Training.

Courses are designed and delivered by Lantra, NPTC City & Guilds and BALI qualified trainers with extensive industry experience to provide course attendees with the necessary specialist training and skills to meet rigorous industry standards.
Courses are scheduled to run throughout the year at our fully equipped LandPro Training Centre located at Plumpton College or one of associated training sites, alternatively we can design and deliver a bespoke package of training and assessment at an employer’s premises or chosen location.
