The Plumpton Centenary 11.5km Trail Race 2026

2026 marks the centenary of the establishment of the College — a milestone that celebrates 100 years of transforming lives through education and looks forward to the next generation of students.

The College’s mission is to provide high-quality training and education in a safe and welcoming environment, enabling students and employers to succeed.

Each year, more than 1500 full-time students choose the College and along with others on part time courses, the total student numbers exceed 5,000. Many face significant barriers to accessing and completing their education. The College is committed to removing those barriers by providing a wide range of support, helping to mitigate both physical and financial challenges.

Alongside its own resources, the College benefits from grant funding to support students in need. These funds are managed with robust policies to ensure they are used to best effect. However, as student needs continue to grow and diversify, available funding does not always keep pace with demand.

For over 40 years, the College’s Charitable Foundation has played a vital role in bridging this gap. Today, it recognises that new challenges require renewed commitment. Its mission is “to enable as many students as possible to enjoy a fulfilling college experience and reach their full potential by raising funds to support activities which would otherwise be beyond college resources.”

The Plumpton College 11.5km Centenary Race has been created to mark this landmark year — celebrating the College’s proud history while raising vital funds to support students in the century ahead.

Invitation to runners

By entering the race, you will take on the 11.5km challenge of the Plumpton Bostal, both ascending and descending, while enjoying the beauty and tranquillity of the Sussex Downland — far from the bustle of towns, cities and highways.

Your participation shines a spotlight on the College, its purpose, and its students, while directly supporting the Charitable Foundation’s work.
