Global leader in regenerative agriculture comes to East Sussex and will be welcomed by HRH The Duchess of Edinburgh

On Friday July 4th at 6pm, Gabe Brown, the ‘father’ of regenerative farming and author of “Dirt to Soil”, will speak at Plumpton College, East Sussex.

At this special event, in the presence of HRH The Duchess of Edinburgh, Gabe Brown, a world-renowned pioneer in the soil-health movement, will discuss how adopting regenerative farming principles, and working with the land’s natural resources, transformed the profitability of his 6,000-acre family farm in North Dakota, USA.

At a time when British farmers are facing many challenges, Gabe will show the way to a hope-filled future of rising profitability, thriving nature and nutrient-rich food. He will demonstrate putting the soil first addresses the problems of flooding, air and water pollution, carbon emissions and carbon sequestration.  As Gabe has written:

“farming and ranching in synchrony with nature to repair, rebuild, restore and revitalise ecosystem function, starting with all life in the soil and expanding to life above the soil.”

Join this hope-filled, inspiring and informative evening as this world-renowned farmer shares his expert experience and knowledge in regenerating our soils and creating a secure future for farmers, food production, people and nature.

The evening is supported by Regenified UK, a new regenerative Agriculture Certification which recognises farmers, growers and producers who are committed to the growth of regenerative agriculture and the adoption of certified products. All profits will be donated to The Royal Countryside Fund

Event Details: Plumpton College, Ditching Road, Lewes, BN7 3AE. Friday July 4th at 6pm. Gabe’s presentation will be followed by Q&A, refreshments and food.

Notes for information

Faced in the late 90s with balancing the ravages of extreme weather, degraded soil and costly chemical inputs, Gabe took the decision to revert to the time-tested ecological principles of farming land in harmony with nature. The priority was the improvement of soil health, through the elimination of ploughing, the adoption of a diverse-cropping strategy, the promotion of mob-grazing and the elimination of all synthetic fertilizers and pesticides. Gabe captured his story in the global best seller: “Dirt to Soil – One Family’s Journey into Regenerative Agriculture”, published in 2018.
