Course Overview
This is a LANTRA trained and NPTC accredited advanced course for experienced arborists who wish to be recognised as a ‘competent person’ to examine arboricultural equipment under LOLER.
The Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER) are in place to ensure that all lifting equipment is used in a safe manner. LOLER testing must be performed by what is known officially as a 'competent person': someone qualified to perform the thorough examination.
This course is classroom based for 3 days covering the following topics:

Legal framework involved with inspecting arboricultural equipment under LOLER 1998

Different types of damage and defects associated with arboricultural equipment

Inspection techniques for a wide range of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) climbing equipment and rigging equipment
PPE
Safety helmet / eye protection / hearing protection / gloves / leg protection / protective boots / high visibility non-snag outer clothing.
