Course Overview
The Three Sisters companion planting system is a time-honoured agricultural method used by Indigenous peoples of the Americas for centuries. The It is a symbiotic relationship that works to support pest control, soil health, and bed design. This method exemplifies sustainable agriculture practices, promoting biodiversity and reducing the need for external inputs. It can be used in very small spaces or large production sites.
This sustainable approach to vegetable growing brings together three staple crops—corn, beans, and squash—in a harmonious and mutually beneficial planting arrangement that maximizes yields and promotes healthy soil.
