Course Overview
Advanced skills of dog grooming to include subjects covering: Canine Behaviour, Prep & maintaining a show coat. Grooming Techniques for Breed Std, Hand stripping, Scissor work, Business management, Physiology and Skin/coat management.
- This is a great opportunity to learn from Charlotte Howard from The Training Hub on theory and practical topics and upskill your knowledge gained in the L3 or equivalent.
- Gain skills needed to have the confidence to run your own business, to take part in grooming competitions, consider teaching others to groom or just be a well-rounded competent dog groomer and help your business thrive.
- Turn your passion to profit with guest speaker Bill Betts and the advance your knowledge on skin and coat management with Julie Harris.
- Showcase your skills and finish the course with a mini competition on a dog of your choice: experience the vibe of competing and being judged with the proficiency learnt throughout this great course.
Modules
- Study will be classroom theory and practical working with dogs and some home study.
- There will be a mix of theory in the morning and then moving onto practical work during the day, including guest speakers.
Assessment
You will be assessed via week home study and the building of a portfolio of growth and development.
Entry Requirements
All applicants must hold a minimum of a Level 3 qualification. There is no required minimum period post-qualification to be eligible for this course.
Students will need to provide 4/5 dogs to learn on. This will include breed standard dogs for handstripping and styling ie: wool coats (which can include non breed std dogs like cockapoos and doodles.)
