Plumpton College is developing as a leading land-based education provider offering a wide range of high-quality learning opportunities across further and higher education. We foster creative and innovative pedagogical practices among our teaching staff, ultimately seeking to improve student outcomes.

Personal Development Lessons are a key part in supporting students (predominantly 16-19-year-olds on Study programmes) in becoming independent, creative, kind people who know how to conduct themselves around others, manage their emotions and stay healthy & positive. The Personal Development coaches/lecturers lead students through a programme which develops their knowledge, understanding, attitudes and values around numerous topics such as respect, wellbeing, democracy and relationships.

Committed to our College values, the successful candidate will have a track record of supporting the pedagogical development of staff through coaching and mentoring. They will be flexible in their approach, working effectively with young people from a variety of backgrounds. 

The ideal candidate will have experience of teaching/facilitating session for young people and will be comfortable with discussion-based learning and development of skills through a variety of formats. They may be a qualified teacher, or be interested in becoming one.

They will illustrate a commitment to regular CPD, keeping abreast of the most current pedagogical research and strategies that positively impact student outcomes, especially around personal development. They will be a clear communicator, professional and a confident team player with a strong desire to drive forward educational standards. There is flexibility in terms of number of days, or full time and possibly term-time only work.
