Why did you choose this course?

I first started studying Veterinary Nursing back in 2007 on the NVQ Level 2 qualification, but after not passing the practical exam had to make the decision as to whether I would continue to pursue this as my career path. After this, I changed practice and in 2014, I was given the opportunity to re-enrol with the RCVS as a student Veterinary Nurse and applied to Plumpton College to complete my Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing.

How has your career developed?

The apprenticeship has allowed me to continue to work and learn, meaning I could use the knowledge I was being taught at college each week. I was supported through all my exams at college and work each day. I worked hard over the years and on completing my Central Skills Log, assignments, theory and practical exams, I was so pleased that in August 2017 I sat my final exam and joined the Register of Veterinary Nurses in January 2018.

I feel that completing the apprenticeship helped to shape me as a Veterinary Nurse and will continue to help me as I progress through my career ahead of me.
