We’re easy to get to. If you’re travelling to Plumpton daily, there are lots of ways you can reach the College. You may also be entitled to help with travel costs via our bursary system which varies according to our different sites, so do get in touch for more information.
From September we will be operating our transport system on a semi distancing basis .
In order to keep all our students safe and comfortable passengers will fill the bus seats from the back first and only window seats will be occupied, allowing the space required between passengers in the aisle. Standing or moving around the vehicle wont be allowed.
Face coverings will be compulsory on all our routes just as they are on public transport nationwide. Unfortunately if you do not wear a face covering you will not be permitted to travel.
We are offering an extended bus route to increase access to further parts of Sussex, Kent and Surrey. See our proposed extended route here. The routes will now extend into Lingfield, Redhill & Paddock Wood.
We run an extensive bus service just for Plumpton College students. New for this academic year we have signed up with CoachHire to improve our routes.
We try to make getting to college as affordable as possible and each year the college subsidises around 50% of the cost of all tickets. In order to ensure that we can offer a sustainable travel network and be able to arrange the transport with a degree of certainty we have moved away from selling 10 journey tickets and have expanded the basis on which termly tickets can be bought. Please note that due to the way in which the costs of travel is incurred by the college we cannot offer half day tickets.
Please note: 10 journey tickets from the last academic year (2019/2020) will not be valid for travel. We can however provide a refund for any unused tickets purchased in term 3 of last year.
Students in receipt of bursaries will have the prices below adjusted according to their bursary awards.
Throughout the next academic year we will be regularly reviewing the quality of the service and always appreciate your support and feedback to help optimise our transport provision.
If you’re coming by train, you can travel to the main local train stations (Lewes, Hassocks, Plumpton Green and Wivelsfield) and then connect with our bus network in order to reach us. If you’re looking for discounted student travel, you can buy a UNIZONE. A unique season ticket which is exclusive to students in the Brighton or Worthing area; you’ll enjoy unlimited travel by train. We have plenty of free parking on campus for students and visitors. You’ll need to register your vehicle with the College during enrolment so we can ensure that it is looked after in the event of a problem. Bike or walking: You can also get to us by bike or walk, however it’s two miles from the nearest station at Plumpton Green.
You can reach Stanmer Campus easily via an extensive network of public buses in and around the Brighton area.
Parking is free at Stanmer Campus, however it’s on a limited basis.
Stanmer Campus is a beautiful place for both riding and walking. You might want to allow extra time on your first time getting here as our centre is located about 15 minutes’ walk from the main park entrance.
