At Plumpton College, the safety of our students, staff and visitors is our number one priority. Since the 23rd of March, in response to the national coronavirus restrictions, the College has moved to deliver its education and learning onto a virtual platform.
Many of us have followed the Government advice and have been restricted from leaving our homes. During this first phase of restrictions, the College has maintained a core team to manage essential provisions for our animals to ensure their wellbeing and that the fabric of the buildings and grounds are maintained.
As the National Coronavirus position starts to improve, there will be a need and a desire to start to relax these restrictions. Plumpton College believes that this must be done in a way that is as safe as possible. This means that although we are never able to eliminate all risk, we will take all reasonable steps to mitigate it.
To enable this, the College Management Teams have consulted extensively with staff and their union to ensure that we are able to deliver a safe environment for our students, staff and visitors to all of our sites. This collaboration requires that we put in place new controls and the College has developed a 'Coronavirus Declaration' that everyone must adhere to. This is a personal guarantee that you will follow the measures that have been put in place and assist the College in ensuring that these measures are followed by others at all times. The College commits to regularly reviewing these measures and updating its risk assessments to ensure we are taking the right steps at the right time to protect the safety and well-being of everyone.
The College will operate within the guidance coming from the Government, but it will also only operate in the best interests of its students and staff and will strive to do what is right and when it is right so that our students, staff and visitors can attend the College safely.
