Technical Brewer Role:
We are looking for someone to join REAL immediately to become an important and integral part of the brewery team.
The role currently involves:
Lab Work: Performing quality analysis across all aspects of production including raw materials, brewing, culture management, processing, packaging and shelf life testing.This includes microbiological analysis, chemical analysis as well as sensory tastings. You will also be responsible for ensuring all equipment used in testing is calibrated, cleaned and maintained in proper working order.
Brewing: Working alongside one of our experienced brewery staff to fulfill production demands efficiently and accurately. This is a relatively physical activity, but requires precision and attention to detail due to the high-quality nature of our products.
Warehousing and Packaging: Working as part of the team to process, pack and prepare shipments to be sent out.
Cleaning: Hygiene is key in any food production environment and here at Real we take this very seriously. You will be trained and required to maintain cleaning standards at all times.
We are a small and very hands-on team so you may be asked to muck-in on a variety of other activities depending upon your energy and skill set.
The successful candidate will:
Have knowledge/experience of working in a laboratory, production role or in quality control.
Have been educated in a science based subject like Microbiology or Brewing Sciences
Know the basics of how a food production site functions, even better with experience in a brewing environment.
Have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Have a flexible and adaptable attitude and the ability to take initiative in their work.
Work under HACCP, SALSA guidelines
Have a high technical aptitude, be comfortable using Microsoft Office or Google Sheets, Forms and Doc.
Have a willingness to assist with projects and be an active member of continuous improvement.
Have an interest in the food and drink industry. Preferably some experience in a similar role.
Be ready to roll up their sleeves and get on with physical work
Is keen to become an integral part of a tight and friendly team
Show initiative to learn from those around them, and improve their working processes.
Be available to work as the demand requires. We are not a long hours culture, but brewing is not a fixed 9.00-5.00 with evening and weekend work from time to time.
