Description
This is an exciting opportunity for you to gain some paid and volunteer work experience with our multi award-winning teams delivering adventurous outward-bound "Youth Engagement and Leadership Programmes" with a military-ethos to disadvantaged children.
Between May and July 2023, we are running a range of multi activity "Wild Tribe" Camps for children at KS2 of primary school age.
We are offering a limited number of paid and voluntary places as activity leads, activity assistants, Tribe assistants and Tribe leads. (Camping accommodation will also be available on site for those who live out of area).
Our Wild Tribe project is quite unique in regard to our approach and a focus on the outcomes and experience of learning. We are all about empowering younger children, giving them opportunities and responsibilities to develop the character, raise the self esteem, build confidence and self worth.
We will be running multi activity modules to include, Bushcraft, Campcraft, Adventure Training, Sports and essential life skills in young people through our programme of challenging and adventurous activities focused on raising confidence, and improving self-esteem.
We strive to give young people the tools to take more responsibility for their own lives now and prepare them for their lives ahead.
We are looking for a dynamic, energetic and enthusiastic Lead and Assistant Instructors to join our teams for the season (flexible arrangements).
Working under you Lead Instructors you will be delivering a wide range of outdoor activity disciplines, including:
• Bushcraft
• Woodcraft Skills
• Archery
• Shooting
• Climbing
• Obstacle Course
• Low Rope Course
• Rafting
• Team Building Challenges
• Nutrition and cooking
• Sports
• Soft Contact Game
• Navigation
• Night stalks
• Camp management
and so much more.
You will be offered training in all applicable areas for site specific activity management.
You will be required to work for a min of the three days of each of the seven residential Wild Tribe Camps (the length of each Wild Tribe residential is no more that 3 days in a row) attend pre Camp training events starting in early May. All uniform and equipment provided.
You will need to be an excellent role model, be fun, versatile, resilient, adaptive, creative and with the ability to think on your feet.
You will have a strong and engaging personality with the ability to motivate children to e the best they can be. You will be able to demonstrate a good level of communication, both written and verbal, with young people, You will be passionate about helping young people improve their life chances.
