The Government has announced a paid work & skills experience programme for young people aged 16-24 & are currently claiming Universal Credit. It is called the Kickstarter Programme & it will support young people to build experience and hopefully move into sustained employment after completion.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and motivated person to join our team as Children’s Outdoors Activity Club Site Co-ordinator - Kickstart apprentice. Our Apprentice will work as part of a busy, professional small team to assist with the logistics of the day to day running of the clubs across all our club sites.
About The Outdoors Project: The Outdoors Project HQ, based in Brighton & Hove runs year round Childcare Activity Clubs for children age 5-12. Our mission is to encourage kids to spend quality time outdoors and gain all the benefits from doing so! Fresh air, exercise, developing friendships, learning about nature, engaging in “wild time”, exploring creativity & imagination, learning new skills and above all having fun!! The Outdoors Project has 3 franchisees across the UK with ambitions to grow the Franchise side of the business.
What We Offer: High quality 6 month on-the-job training. Our Apprentice will work as part of a busy, professional small team to assist with the logistics of the day to day running of the clubs across all sites. You’ll gain practical work experience and learn new skills. These include planning and organisation, facilitation and reviewing, communication, confidence when dealing with customers, and safety management. Full training and support will be provided by The Outdoors Project to help you achieve your apprenticeship and reach your full potential in your role. On successful completion of the apprenticeship, there is potential to progress into a permanent member of staff.
CHILDREN’S OUTDOORS ACTIVITY CLUB SITE - CO-ORDINATOR - KICKSTART APPRENTICE
Essential Criteria:
Training offered: First Aid, DBS, Safeguarding + ongoing external and internal training throughout the year.
Term: Initially a 6 month period with a personal development plan in place and a long term view to move successful candidates into a permanent position.
Working hours: 25 hours per week, Monday - Saturday (hours will be Rota-d monthly )
Pay rate: The hourly rate per age-group is listed below for this earn & learn opportunity (from April 2021):
• Age 23 or over £8.91
• Age 21 to 22: £8.36
• Age 18 to 20: £6.56
• Age 16 to 17: £4.62
