No commentsPlumpton College have launched their own online Schools Portal due to the restrictions placed on their usual schools liaison activities, with college visits being prohibited due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The team would typically be busy attending over 75 schools careers events and assemblies in this first term alone, meeting hundreds of students and parents and educating them on the opportunities available to them at Plumpton College and within the land based sector post GCSEs.
To ensure schools and their students aren’t missing out on valuable information regarding their next steps a Schools Portal has been created on the Plumpton College website. This portal allows school Careers Leaders, students and their families access to a host of resources that would usually be shared in person.
This vaulable new portal contains a host of valuable resources, cincluding a recorded version of the assembly presentation, a list of frequently asked questions taken from the typical questions asked at school events as well as key information event dates and application deadlines. There is also the opportunity to book a 1:1 appointment with Plumpton College’s Level 6 trained Careers Advisor for impartial advice on the land based sector.
A brand new prospectus has also been designed and printed and whilst physical copies are still being distributed to schools, there is also an online version available for download from the Schools Portal. The prospectus gives a great overview of all the further education departments at Plumpton College, as well as important information on entry requirements, finance, student support and much more!
Whilst the team hope to be back in schools, talking to students in person soon, hopefully the Schools Portal will provide an interim service that can deliver the important information virtually. Should you have any queries, please email our schools liaison coordinator, Amanda Symes or a member of our Enquiries Advice and Guidance team. You may also call on: 01273 890454.
Since the original 400-acre College farm was bought back in 1919, Plumpton College has certainly seen a lot of changes.
