For students completing in the Summer of 2021, qualifications will be awarded based on your assessments and/or lecturer judgement depending on the type of course you are studying. You will be told by your lecturers what evidence is being used for your qualification. Grades will not be determined by algorithms.

For qualifications most similar to GCSEs and A levels e.g. BTEC or Technicals

You will continue with your assessments or be graded by your lecturer where this is not possible. If normal assessment is not possible and you are graded by a lecturer, various sources of evidence will be used to inform the grades e.g. mock exams, class activities, witness statements to list a few. Results will be available on 10th August for Level 3 and 12th August for Level 2.

For qualifications not similar to GCSE or A levels, e.g. Functional Skills

You will continue with your assessments as planned in most cases. If this is not possible, results might be awarded using other evidence or judgements depending on the circumstances.

For qualifications with occupational skills or proficiency assessments e.g. dog grooming, forest school leaders, some motor vehicle courses

Assessments must be completed as normal where possible. If these cannot be completed right away, assessments might be delayed or adapted to enable you to complete these.

For GCSEs

Your grade will be determined by your lecturer. College assessment will continue to support this grade and you will only be assessed on what you have been taught. Evidence used for grading might include mocks, tests and work already completed. Non-exam assessment will continue and can be used as evidence. GCSE results will be available on 12th August.
