Rainham Hall is a Queen Anne style Hall, built in the 18th century, with a community garden of just over two and a half acres. This garden is in an exciting phase of redesign and evolution to establish it as a hub for the local community and a green oasis in an urban landscape. This is an excellent opportunity to help create a National Trust garden, and be involved in all elements of design, build and maintenance.

Red House garden has a great range of garden opportunities from growing fruit, vegetables, herbaceous borders and tree management with glasshouse for propagation with in London suburb of Bexleyheath. This is an excellent opportunity to gain a qualification and practical experience working under experienced volunteer gardeners of an historic garden.

Apprenticeship schemes are a great opportunity to combine learning, training, and real work experience. 

You will be based within one site or team within a National Trust property.  Working in a supported learning environment, you will undertake basic tasks in your department relating to your choice of apprenticeship.

As a Gardening Apprentice you will be involved with basic, routine duties such as mowing, soil cultivation, weed control, pruning and planting. 

You may also assist in the delivery of events and other activities.

You will actively participate in your own development plan which will be agreed with your line manager and the training provider.

You will undertake training and constructively take part in meetings, supervision, seminars and other events designed to improve communication and assist with your effective development.

You may also assist in the delivery of events and other activities, working alongside our large teams of volunteers.

In addition to the training and support you receive from the property, you will be expected to study for agreed qualifications with an approved training provider.  In order to gain your qualification, you will undertake regular workplace assessments with the college representative / training provider associated with your apprenticeship and will complete an end of placement assessment.
