​Part Time Assistant Gardener

Part time Assistant Gardener wanted 3 or 4 days per week to help maintain and improve gardens alongside business owner in Henfield area. Work available on a self employed basis until early November.

Work is based in the Henfield area and surrounding countryside and towns including Hurstpierpoint and Hassocks. Duties include lawn mowing, hedge cutting, pruning shrubs and trees, tending herbaceous beds and borders and soft landscaping in private & domestic gardens and some larger sites. 

The successful candidate will need to be able to carry out general gardening tasks such as weeding, pruning and planting, as well as be able to operate hand and power tools, such as blowers and hedge trimmers and all types of mowers. Training will be provided, where necessary. Candidates will need to be reliable and punctual, physically fit, possess a willingness to work in all weathers, have good communication skills and an enthusiasm for plants and horticulture. An ability to identify common garden plants and weeds is important.

In addition to existing contract gardeners, this position may suit a trainee gardener / horticultural student starting a gardening career or a semi retired person or gardening enthusiast looking for a part time opportunity.

Benefits:         

Pay £70 per day

Approx 8 hour day with no weekend working or lone working

Training provided by RHS qualified gardener.
