Searching for an enthusiastic new member of staff for our mixed family farm near Canterbury.

We have a role available for a full time general farm worker to fill a permanent role on a mixed family farm just on the outskirts of Canterbury, Kent. The role will be diverse to help with our livestock, top fruit, potato and arable part’s of our business.

The farm has a herd of 230 pedigree Sussex suckler cows plus followers and 220 ewes so a passion for animal welfare is essential. The role will be assisting our stockman in all aspects of animal husbandry. We are currently part of the AHDB strategic farm project and so it is an exciting time within the business. In addition we have 28ha of apples and pears and we would like the candidate to have knowledge and  interest in fruit trees. Any experience with air assisted spraying would be seen as an advantage, however training would be available for the right candidate. The role will also include tractor work within our arable and potato parts of the business.

The applicant should be competent with tractor, trailer and telescopic handler work as well as a wheelbarrow and pitch fork if the job requires it! It is essential that you can work alone or as part of a team and are reliable, flexible, trustworthy and self motivated. The applicant must hold a full valid UK driving licence.

This role has the potential to grow with the candidate and in time you could be given a great deal of responsibility within the fruit part of the business.
