We are looking for an employee who is looking to make a career in agriculture. The job would be varied on this mixed farm.

We have 620 Ha growing currently winter wheat, winter barley, oilseed rape, spring barley, forage maize and some 200 Ha of grass.

There is a dairy associated with the farm but due to the retirement of a long standing herdsman we decided to contract farm it with a local farmer.

There are plans in progress to change from a 220 cow 50% spring/autumn calving herd to a 300 cow autumn calving unit.

The dairy is self contained labour wise but if there was interest in dairying if would be possible to be invoved.

We currently rear all the calves other than fresian bulls which are sold at about 2 weeks old. The Fresian heifers return to the dairy at calving the beef calves are fattened and go straight to slaugher. also sheep are on keep for the winter to use up the autumn grass and graze stubble turnips grown after cereals.

The employee would be expectected to have some exprience as there would be large expensive machinery involved.

Working as part of a team as well as using ones initiative is required.

Accommodation if required is a tidy well equipped mobile home. due to the relative isolation of the farm own transport would be required.
