Level 1, 2 and 3
If you're interested in practical and outdoor activities, with lots of different subjects to discover, this is a flexible entry level programme ideal for you.
You'll get to develop your social and communication skills, as well as continuing your English and Maths skills. You can choose to study between one to three years to suit your needs.
You'll get to discover loads of different subjects on this course including agriculture, animal care, art and craft, equine, game-keeping and fisheries, floristry, horticulture, outdoor adventure activities, personal and social development and woodland/forestry skills. Plus you'll get to go on visits and outings. Work experience is also a big part of your course - helping you to build on your experience and confidence.
You can also gain an entry level vocational qualification, other options also include a College Award, Stepping Stones or GCSEs in English and Maths

You won't need a formal qualification to start the programme, however you will need to show that you have a keen interest in working outside with plants and animals. The course will also give you the option of flexible learning across other study areas within the College.
1 - 3 years, 3 days per week, full-time
You'll be able to enjoy all of our extensive facilities here at Plumpton. Working in a practical environment, you'll be able to make the most of our practical and demonstration facilities that will be a brilliant base for your studies. With our beautiful 800 hectares of space here, from our countryside to our farms, fisheries to horticulture, you'll find it a perfect location to enjoy.
By completing this course, you'll be able to go on to a 2nd or 3rd year - as you build on the three levels within Rural Pathways. You can choose to join a Level 1 programme if you meet the minimum entry requirements including English and Maths. Another option will be to join our Step into Work programme or Supported Internship.
