If you're interested in developing your personal, social, academic and employability skills as well as English and mathematics, then our entry level Rural Pathway programme is ideal for you.

Course content 

You will work towards a number of units which include exploring art, developing ICT skills, keeping safe, developing self-awareness and communication. You will also get to develop practical skills through vocational tasters and go on visits and outings. Work experience is also a big part of your course, helping to build on your interests, experience and confidence, as well provide opportunities to engage in real life practical work related activities.

Additional Qualifications 

The Rural Pathway study programmes range from Entry level 1 to Entry level 3 and between one to three years, depending on your needs.

Depending on your entry level you will also work towards Functional skills or GCSE’s in English and mathematics.

Entry Requirements:

Entry Level 1 – Recognised and accredited prior learning and an online Initial skills assessment in English and mathematics working toward Entry 1.

Entry Level 2 – Successful completion of Entry 1 Rural Pathways or recognised and accredited prior learning including an award or functional skill in English or mathematics at Entry level 1 or above or an online initial skills assessment in English and mathematics working toward Entry level 2.

Entry Level 3 – Successful completion of the Entry 2 Rural Pathways or recognised and accredited prior learning including entry level functional skills in English and mathematics at a minimum Entry level 2.

Working in a practical environment, you'll be able to make the most of our classroom and practical facilities as a brilliant base for your studies. With our beautiful 800 hectares of space here, from our countryside to our farms, fisheries to horticulture at Plumpton or the smaller out center at Netherfield, you'll find the perfect location to enjoy your studies. Please note that our Campuses are situated in open and sprawling countryside and that the site is not contained.

Future Opportunities

Upon successful of the Rural Pathway Entry level 3 study programme, you will be able to progress onto a Level 1 vocational study programme or the Supported Internship programme, if you meet the minimum entry requirements including English and mathematics.
