RHS Level 2 Certificate
These RHS qualifications are intended for those wishing to work in professional horticulture in a variety of roles. They are suitable for those wishing to enter horticultural employment for the first time; for those who are already working in horticulture who want to develop their skills; and for those who wish to progress to further horticultural study at level 3. It is also suitable for those who wish to enter horticulture as a change of career and are seeking the necessary foundation skills.

The RHS Level 2 Diploma is awarded to those that who successfully achieve in both the theory based examinations and the practical based assessments.
We offer a flexible approach to study; the theory based and practical based qualifications can be studied separately, in isolation or in combination.
RHS Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of Horticulture provides a broad knowledge of the theories which support horticultural techniques.
These theory based qualifications provide a comprehensive understanding of the principles that underpin professional practices. Each Unit is assessed by written examinations.

Each unit is assessed by written examination at year end. Topics include Plant Botany and Physiology; Soil science; Plant health and Propagation.

There is no requirement for previous knowledge or experience needed for entry to the qualifications, although a keen interest and enthusiasm is, of course, key to success.

RHS Level 3 Certificate in Practical Horticulture qualification further develops the essential skills needed in horticulture.
This course is ideal to support for those already working in horticulture looking for career development into a supervisory or management role or to further develop your interest.
It is strongly recommended that you have prior attainment of the Level 2 qualification as the course builds on those skills. There is an expectation of prior horticultural knowledge and experience.
