Discover the techniques of how to work with green/freshly felled wood to make a range of products.
Suitable for anyone interested in craft skills.
- Introduction to working green wood – the processes, techniques and tools and the products you can make.
- Demonstration of hands on techniques to convert logs into products.
- Choosing wood, cutting to size, cleaving, shaving, and pole lathe turning.
- Selecting products to make to use green wood tools and techniques e.g. tent pegs, spatulas, spoons, dibbers, candlesticks, rounders bats.
- Continue to make objects using the shave horse and pole lathe.
- Discussion of ideas for future projects e.g. chairs, stools, benches and making a shave horse and pole lathe.
- Suggested reading and sources of wood and tools.
