This 10 week course will introduce the concepts and practices of organically growing vegetables.

The course will cover the principles of vegetable production indoors, under protection and outdoors in prepared beds. 


You will be guided through the methods of soil preparation, fertiliser choice and application, sow a variety of crops and bring them on to harvest. The principles of crop rotation will be explored including cultural and preventative pest and disease control.


Topics will also include how to manage and maintain soil health, explore the sustainable use of resources, discuss how to encourage biodiversity and avoid the use of chemicals.  

Entry Requirements:

A general interest in growing vegetables. 

PPE:

Steel toe capped boots must be worn at all times
Gloves
