One Day Theory Workshop for Module 1
Looking to enhance your honeybee knowledge?
This one-day theory workshop is the ideal preparation for taking the British Beekeepers’ Association’s (BBKA) Module One examination - Honeybee Management.
This is the first of seven theory examinations that beekeepers can sit in the UK. Plumpton College is one of the first organisations to run such a course.
The qualification aims to encourage beekeepers who have been awarded the BBKA Basic Certificate and have kept and managed bees for at least 2 seasons to improve their understanding and practice of beekeeping.
This course will work through the latest syllabus as preparation for the exam which will be organised by your local beekeeping group in Spring and Autumn each year. It will also benefit those not wishing to take the exam as the topics covered include
- Starting out,
- Apiary management,
- Feeding bees,
- And a year in the apiary.
For those for whom exams might be a distant memory, there will be guidance on exam technique and for applying for the exam.
Please do not delay your booking – to guarantee your place, please book at least 2 weeks in advance of course date
BBKA recommended book list available on www.bbka.org.uk
To take the Assessment beekeepers will require to have passed the BBKA Basic and had 2 years’ experience but this course will benefit anyone who already has bees and wants to improve their beekeeping knowledge and skills.
