At Plumpton College, we recognise the importance of effective and innovative leadership and management in the evolving business landscape. Our carefully designed First Line Manager Apprenticeship encompasses all aspects of the Team Leader/Supervisor Apprenticeship Standard and includes the ILM L3 Diploma in Managers to ensure rigorous development to meet business needs. 

Our innovative design and flexible delivery model ensure that this apprenticeship is the perfect choice for new in-post first line managers or those occupational experts who have excelled in their roles to become supervisors or managers, but have not received the essential formalised management training required to support dynamic and growing businesses. 

This apprenticeship is for someone who takes responsibility for managing a team or discrete project. They support, manage and develop team members, manage projects, plan and monitor workloads and resources. They take responsibility for delivering operational plans, resolving problems and building relationship.s 

Your specialist ILM lecturer will regularly support your apprentice in person and remotely to review and record their progress against the apprenticeship. Apprentices will be required to record their learning, typically 20% of their working time, which will be managed in conjunction with the employer and supported by their lecturer.

Future Opportunities

Apprentices are prepared to undertake their End Point Assessments as part of their on programme learning and assessment and, if required, will achieve Level 2 maths and English Functional Skills prior to End Point Assessment. This apprenticeship is graded pass, merit and distinction.

As an ILM learning, apprentices gain access to ILM's volume of resources, and upon completion will achieve a formal diploma and digital credentials. Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship and EPA, apprentices will be entitled to register as associate members with the Institute of Leadership and Management or the Chartered Management Institute. 

The natural progression route for this qualification my be Junior Management Consultant or Operations Manager.
