This programme is aimed at those who wish to work with animals in a role which supports management and is equivalent to studying three a-levels over two years.
Entrants will normally have some experience of working with companion animals. The programme develops both technical knowledge and practical skills through lectures, practicals, demonstrations, visits and one day per week at a work placement. Students will be assessed through coursework, exams and practical assessments.
This course is an excellent preparation for employment in animal collections, pet shops, rescue centres and small charities. It also affers students the opportunity to progress into higher education.

All students on our Level 3 programmes will now have to take part in an exciting and compulsory industry placement programme consisting of 150 hours alongside completion of their vocational course. The programme will give you the chance to gain valuable skills in a real working environment whilst being paired with your ideal employer.
Our mission is to pair students with their ideal employer and to support them continuously during the placement.
There is flexibility on how students complete the placement; it can be during non-college weekdays, weekends, in blocks or over the holiday period. This programme is aimed at those who wish to work with animals in a role which supports management. Employment may include animal carer, animal nurse, animal trainer or dog grooming assistant, a zoo or wildlife trainee keeper, or as an animal charity fundraiser.
Students achieving a merit or distinction in year 1 may be able to progress onto the second year of the level 3 in Animal Management. This may lead to employment in a management focused position, or onto Higher Education.
Students will also have either GCSE maths or GCSE English classes scheduled within their timetable dependent on requirement.
