This 3 day course is designed for those with a keen interest in wine
and other beverages, and for those wishing to gain employment in
drinks-related industries. Topics discussed include basic tasting
techniques, wine production and the principal wine producing
countries of the world. Other alcoholic beverages such as sparkling
and fortified wines, spirits and liqueurs will also be considered.
Students will increase their appreciation of these alcoholic beverages
by combining tutored tastings with their new knowledge and
understanding.
This certificate is a pre-requisite for the Foundation Degrees in Wine
Production and Wine Business and the BSc (Hons) Viticulture & Oenology.
