This higher level course is intended for those who wish to gain
detailed contemporary knowledge of the production and commercial
significance of wines and spirits of the world. It is designed
specifically for those employed or seeking employment in managerial
or executive roles in the wine trade, but is also open to serious wine
enthusiasts.
There are six separate units to this qualification, each one with its
own assessment which include tasting examinations and written
reports. These six units are:
- The global business of alcoholic beverages
- The production of wine
- Light wines of the world
- Spirits of the world
- Sparkling wines of the world
- Fortified wines of the world
Students may complete the whole course in two years or over a
maximum of five years. This qualification is delivered within Plumpton
College’s Foundation Degree in Wine Business and students can
progress on to this programme.
