A) Foundation Degree in Wine Production

This course aims to prepare students for careers in the wine production industry, both in the UK and abroad. It has been designed with a strong practical bias and allows students to become involved in producing Plumpton College’s award winning wine using the college’s well-equipped commercial vineyard and purpose-built winery.

The course covers all aspects of wine production, including:

  • Vineyard site selection, establishment and management
  • Wine production, analysis and assessment
  • Science and business modules

Single modules from this course can be studied separately allowing students to work towards the full Foundation Degree in a part-time mode or as continuous professional development, enabling persons already in the industry to develop new skills. Career opportunities in wine production exist not just in the UK but all over the world. Former students are now producing wine in France, Spain, Portugal, California, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Chile. Students may also progress on to the BSc (Hons) Viticulture and Oenology also delivered at Plumpton College.
